This is Billy Eckstine he was a crooner and bebop artist from the 1940’s. His popularity rivaled that of Frank Sinatra, but that all ended when this photo made it to Time Magazine. Can you guess why?
Someone just said because he was hugging a white woman. Not really; he was mobbed by this crowd of white teenagers when he left his hotel. Time published this photo and white parents saw it they pressured radio station not to play his music. And of course they didn’t. God Bless Amerikkka the land that loves me.
